Cheerful, goofy sweet girl VS sharp-tongued, tsundere ice prince
Reunion at the start + school-day memories | Sweet and sour push and pull | Rekindled romance
1) After successfully getting into grad school, Jiang Song was bored at home, so she signed up for driving lessons to get her license.
But there is a cruel kind of fate called running into your nemesis. For example, when Jiang Song showed up at the driving school early one morning, looking like a mess, she discovered that her instructor was none other than her ex, Lu Beiyu, back from the dead.
The moment she saw Lu Beiyu, her vision went black.
...The universe was out to get her.
Sure enough, less than a week later, the two of them were at each other's throats.
When they were practicing turns on the road, Lu Beiyu lounged in the passenger seat, his elbow resting casually on the window. With his sharp jaw and lazy voice, he directed Jiang Song beside him. "Turn left."
Jiang Song's hand trembled with nerves, and she flicked on the right turn signal instead.
The man beside her let out a soft, sudden scoff.
"Beautiful."
He shot her a sidelong glance, clicking his tongue. "You've even mastered misdirection. Getting together with me back then was a waste of your talents."
Jiang Song: "..."
...You jerk. I need my license, so I'll put up with you.
2) Later, after finally getting her license, Jiang Song let out a long sigh of relief.
Now she would never have to face Lu Beiyu's sour face again.
But on the day grad school started, she was stunned to see a tall, slender young man standing beside her beloved advisor. She heard he was the advisor's project partner, a promising young talent with long legs and an impressive presence. Even from behind, he was a feast for the eyes.
But the more Jiang Song looked at him, the more familiar he seemed. Then the young man turned around, looking perfectly unconcerned, and gave Jiang Song, whose eyes had suddenly widened, a faintly amused smile.
"What, it's only been a month, and you don't recognize me anymore?"
Jiang Song: "..."
Why does this guy keep haunting me?
3) Later, after he repeatedly pressed her about why they had broken up, Jiang Song finally lost patience and blurted out that she didn't feel anything for him anymore.
In the cramped car, Lu Beiyu fell silent for a moment after hearing that. Then he stared at her without blinking, his dark eyes thoughtful.
After a long pause, he spoke calmly, leaning toward her as an oppressive presence pressed closer inch by inch.
"When you say you don't feel anything for me, do you mean..."
He paused, looking into her eyes, then continued in a quiet voice, "Hugging, kissing, or sex..."
Jiang Song clapped a hand over his mouth before he could finish the last word.
Her face flushed bright red, and she hurriedly cried out in embarrassment, "Shut up!"
Her palm was clammy with nervous sweat.
Later, after putting things to a serious test, Lu Beiyu watched someone flee in a panic and thought of how well they had fit together the night before. He scoffed. "Liar."
She clearly still felt something for him.
She clearly still loved him.
A few things to know before you dive in:
1. School-day memories and present-day city life alternate.
2. Some plot-serving fictional details are included, so please don't take them as reality.
Please add my next book, She's Unbelievably Beautiful, to your collection!
1) Xu Zeshou first noticed Lu Lu when his advisor had just rejected his thesis topic. He was hiding behind a tree, smoking to lift his spirits, when he saw her.
Lu Lu was running into her boyfriend's arms, tilting her head up affectionately as she called him, "A Shu," again and again in a sweet, coy voice.
Her voice was soft and lilting, sweet enough to melt him to the bone, and it also worked its way into his heart.
Xu Zeshou breathed out a cloud of smoke and looked at the blushing girl in the distance, narrowing his eyes. For some reason, he felt a surge of jealousy and frustration.
He wanted Lu Lu to call him "A Shu" in that voice, too.
2) Later, Xu Zeshou did everything he could to become friends with Lu Lu's boyfriend, so he could find out all sorts of things about her.
After he had done his best to drive a wedge between them, the two finally broke up.
Xu Zeshou got his wish and took the boyfriend's place.
When Lu Lu's ex-boyfriend learned the truth, he came to confront Xu Zeshou in a fury. He called him utterly shameless and punched him.
Xu Zeshou said he didn't care and let him hit him. Lowering his head, he gave a lazy laugh. "So what?"
He watched Lu Lu come downstairs to find him. His smile faded, and his tone turned unreadable.
"She's so beautiful. I'm the only one who'll cherish her properly."
"As for you, she doesn't love you anymore." Xu Zeshou raised his head a little and looked at the furious man before him, his expression cool as he enunciated each word. "So get lost."
Then he turned around, stopped Lu Lu, and deliberately covered his bruised mouth, pretending to be wronged as he told her he was fine. Furious, Lu Lu slapped her ex-boyfriend and led Xu Zeshou away.
Xu Zeshou didn't forget to turn back and raise an eyebrow at him with a victorious smile. His shamelessness drove Lu Lu's ex-boyfriend nearly mad.
3) Xu Zeshou once named his plan to pursue Lu Lu "The Beauty's Scheme."
At first, he focused on the scheming.
But as he pursued her, he gradually realized he had gotten his priorities mixed up.
When it came to Lu Lu, the most important thing wasn't the scheming. It was the beauty.
His little fairy was captivated by his looks.
But clearly, she was the one who was unbelievably beautiful.
"Why does the newcomer win? Because the one who comes later fights harder to claim what's theirs."
1. The male lead has a weak moral compass, but he's no villain.
2. The male lead falls in love with the female lead at first sight. It's a full-on Mary Sue story, so don't overthink the details.
3. You can think of it as the story of a male homewrecker taking the boyfriend's place.
Theme: Have the courage to face yourself
I feel that the ending was a bit too hasty. I feel that the writing power of the last few chapters is not as good as the campus part. I feel that the characters of the male and female protagonists are a little OOC in the urban part, but overall it is still good [Chigua]
