After Ranpo Was Reborn

>>> After turning himself into an ability life-form and giving Verlaine life, Rimbaud truly vanished from the world. It was all right, though. He thought he had no regrets left in this world. He never expected that when he opened his eyes, he would be back nine years in the past, at the moment he and Verlaine abducted Arahabaki from the Yokohama military research facility. His partner was confronting him with Nakahara Chuuya slung over his shoulder, his voice full of tension and hostility. "I won't hand this child over to France!" "I won't hand him over to anyone, and I won't return him to the research facility. He should grow up quietly in some peaceful country village, without knowing who he really is." "I want to save another version of myself..." "Don't come any closer to me!" "I understand," Rimbaud said. "Then let's go." Verlaine: ??? >>> Years later, late at night. His partner suddenly dropped to one knee before him. "Rimbaud, I dreamed of the future, a broken future that should have been our ending. You changed it." "You did it all for me. I'm sorry, I'm sorry..." "And..." Verlaine placed a hand over his chest. "Rimbaud, you are like a violin's lingering wail, Monotonous, Melancholy, Piercing my heart. Now it beats only for you."* Faced with his partner's heartfelt confession, Rimbaud merely put a hand on his forehead. "Paul, do you have a fever?" "What nonsense are you talking about? Aren't we partners?" Verlaine: "..." >>> 1. Both are reborn. Rimbaud is reborn first, and Verlaine later. 2. Verlaine catches on immediately after being reborn, but Rimbaud still hasn't caught on OTZ 3. It's probably a story about the two of them raising a child together. 4. The title and blurb may still be revised before the story officially starts, but the core idea of both being reborn won't change. 5. Bungo Stray Dogs, with Yokohama as the setting. The European literary-greats system is not involved. 6. *From Verlaine's "Autumn Song" Theme:
