In one of the film samples that arrived with it, he saw his boyfriend Chi Xian, who had died in a bombing seven years ago. In the holographic projection, the young man wore a dark red cloak and held a blood-dripping scythe in one hand. Half his face had rotted away, revealing a ghastly white skull. He turned his stiff lips toward Jiang Jibei on the other side of the screen. On the other half of his pale, handsome face appeared an eerie smile. His childhood friend sighed. "It can't be Chi Xian. He was blown to pieces. Even if we found the remains, what good would it do?" Jiang Jibei clenched the invitation and smiled calmly. "Even if there's only a single piece, his remains belong with me." His dead boyfriend had come back to life in a horror film. Jiang Jibei would enter the film and wrest him back from Death. △Reader's guide: 1. The gong who died young x the beautiful widowed shou. Younger man/older partner. 2. Focuses on the atmosphere of horror films. Not a mystery-solving story. Semi-fictional setting, with a film-world backdrop. 3. Each arc draws on a different film genre. Except for professional knowledge related to films and folklore, everything else is original or invented for the story, so don't look for historical accuracy. 4. Author's notes include supplementary reading material, which you can hide if you don't want to see it~ 5. The plot and logic have been revised throughout. Pirated versions have confusing, disjointed plots. Only the version on Jinjiang is official. Author's Weibo: @Zhizhi Zai'er.
