My Childhood Betrothed Turned Sweet on Me After Rejecting Me

Gu Rushuang was betrothed to a member of the imperial family when he was a child. He was a boy, and so was the other party.

He had been raised as a girl. The other party would take a wife, and he would become that wife.

As they grew up, rumors spread that the groom was vicious beyond compare. Three servants had fled his home in terror in a single night.

He even declared, "If Miss Gu dares to marry me, I'll make her my concubine."

Gu Rushuang wanted to return the defective goods.

Pei Lian had been betrothed as a child. He hated political marriages. He believed a man should marry the one he loved, and that blind, arranged marriages were a rotten custom.

What's more, he despised weepy women.

But after Miss Gu married into his family, she endured his repeated insults without showing any emotion. He realized that she was far more spirited than he had imagined.

Later, Miss Gu's identity turned out to be that of a young master.

Pei Lian seized the chance to say, "You made my wife disappear. You owe me a replacement."

Gu Rushuang lowered his eyes and replied meekly, "I entered through the side door on my wedding night. What you lost was a concubine, not a wife. Surely General Pei doesn't care for a mere concubine?"

Pei Lian: "...I do."
