That's a Pretty Weird Way to Show Brotherhood!

[July 29, 2026]

This is a world full of protagonists.

All you have to do is step outside, and there'll be a nouveau riche protagonist throwing money around, a bankruptcy protagonist crying because they keep making money and can't go bankrupt, a revenge protagonist declaring that the wheel of fortune will turn, and a leveling-up protagonist diligently attending their specialized classes...

Bai Junxing is a proper heir to a prominent family, surrounded by protagonists like these every day.

But he's just an ordinary person, not even important enough to be a side character!

To make matters worse, he's diagnosed with a terminal illness. He's running out of time and about to die.

There's only one way to extend his life: get tied to the protagonists and become a popular supporting character.

Fated male protagonists always have people like this around them: friends who've been through thick and thin together, benefactors who lend them a hand, or rivals who compete with them but respect them...

As long as he makes a strong impression on their hearts, he won't be so quick to kick the bucket!

Bai Junxing observes them closely and discovers that every one of these protagonists comes from a male-oriented novel with no romance.

Great, that makes things easy. He won't have to worry about feelings getting complicated.

He's going to be everyone's favorite supporting character!

He befriends his down-to-earth roommate, becomes a kindred spirit to a rising business star, and helps a friend facing bankruptcy when they're down...

Bai Junxing's popularity grows by the day, and his health improves day by day.

But things start taking a strange turn.

The taciturn Protagonist A learns of his illness, lowers his head in tears, and even wants to trade lives with him.

The independent, aloof Protagonist B buys a house in a place he once mentioned and says he wants them to live together.

His adversarial Protagonist C gets drunk and confesses that he'll always save a place for him...

Bai Junxing: Is this a weird way for your fated protagonists to show brotherly love, or what?!

He tries to hide out at the hospital for a few days, only for all the protagonists to show up at once to visit him, then stare at each other in silence.

Every one of them looks at him. "Junxing, which one of us is your best friend?"

Bai Junxing: ...

Waaah, I should've known better than to become everyone's favorite!

#What do I do when the fated male protagonists start fighting?

#Why does being too popular automatically trigger a love polygon?

*Currently planned as no romance. That's how I feel about it for now. It's more fun when they fight tooth and nail for the brotherhood they believe in.

*They go harder at showing brotherly love than they would at romance.jpg

Premise: Life is precious.
