Save My Marriage [GB]

I know I’m an NPC in a game.

Whenever I have to live through the same day again, I know the player in this world isn’t happy with how she’s arranged everything in the game.

In their world, they call this a reload.

*

Today, I’m falling apart. I’ve already * my husband eighteen times.

I’m so tired. I want to sleep. But the moment I close my eyes, I’m back at our candlelit dinner. My husband gazes at me expectantly and says for the nineteenth time,

“Today is our first wedding anniversary. You said you’d give me a night to remember. I can’t wait.”

Halfway through, he looks hurt. “That kiss felt like you were just going through the motions. Are you tired of me?”

I comfort him and say I’m not.

Today, I’m falling apart. I’ve already eaten thirty meals cooked by my husband.

I’m so full. I need to digest. But the moment I close my eyes, I’m back at the dining table. My husband gazes at me expectantly and says for the thirty-first time,

“It’s been a while since I cooked. I wonder if you still like my food?”

I take a bite, but I can’t help gagging.

My husband looks hurt. “You’re avoiding my eyes. Are you sick of my cooking?”

I comfort him and say I’m not.

Today, I’m falling apart. I’ve already comforted my husband forty-five times.

I’m so thirsty. I want some water. But as soon as I finish comforting him, the bottle I was about to open is back on the cupboard. My husband looks at me with tears in his eyes and says for the forty-sixth time,

“Do you not love me anymore?”

I comfort him and say I do.

My husband looks hurt. “You’re being so perfunctory. You talk like you’re just going through the motions. There’s no passion left in our life.”

He says, “Let’s get divorced.”

...Help! Someone, please save my marriage!

Premise: Sigh, life. Sigh, marriage. Sigh, husbands.
