The Wrong Bridegroom

Before heading to the capital, Xu Yingxue had imagined all kinds of possibilities: her fiancé's family might reject her because she was an orphan, deny the engagement, or perhaps he had already married someone else.

What she never imagined was that she had mistaken someone else for him.

The man who accepted her token, arranged a place for her to stay, and even married her as if it were the most natural thing in the world was not the man to whom she was engaged at all.

And her real fiancé was still searching for her all over the capital.

Panicking, she packed her things and tried to run.

The man leaned against the doorway, casually turning her token in his hand as he raised an eyebrow. "What, trying to return your purchase?"

Xu Yingxue forced herself to stay calm and demanded, "If you're not him, why didn't you say so sooner?"

He lowered his head to smooth her hair, his tone languid. "You made the mistake. Getting to marry you was my own skill."

Before meeting Xu Yingxue, Yan Ling had never imagined he would get married.

When he first met Xu Yingxue, her eyes were red, and she mistook him for her fiancé.

Once he learned that her fiancé was his sworn enemy, Yan Ling decided to toy with her and conveniently found her a place to stay.

He had meant to hide her away and make his sanctimonious enemy sweat. Who could have guessed he would be the first to fall?

He began to care, began to panic. Whenever he heard her mention that man's name, he wanted to strangle him.

On their wedding day, she finally learned the truth.

But so what? Why should he hand over the wife he had won through his own ability?
