The Prince Consort Has Been Plotting This for a Long Time

Yan Danyi was reborn.

Given another chance, she was still the Chengle Princess, raised in the imperial palace and showered with boundless affection.

Other than having lost her life in a muddle in her previous life, the only thing troubling her was the imperial decree of marriage left by the late emperor.

Her betrothed, Shen Gui, came from a distinguished family. He was refined and handsome, like an orchid or a jade tree.

Everyone in the capital said he was disciplined and courteous, cool and self-possessed, the dream lover of countless young noblewomen.

But in Yan Danyi's eyes, he was clearly a hateful man born to antagonize her!

When she admired flowers, Shen Gui remarked, "They're almost past their bloom."

When she ate sweet pastries, Shen Gui said mildly, "Too many sweets are bad for you."

When she finally got her hands on something new, Shen Gui pointed out without expression, "This is an imperial tribute. Your Highness is overstepping."

Yan Danyi ground her teeth in hatred, but she couldn't call off the engagement. After being reborn, she decided to throw caution to the wind and deliberately pick fights with Shen Gui.

The whole capital eagerly waited to see the Chengle Princess make a scene and get her engagement canceled.

Instead, Shen Gui entered her residence late at night and set the imperial marriage decree he'd kept for years on the table. "If Your Highness still refuses to marry me, I'll ask His Majesty tomorrow to let me marry into the Prince of Ning's household."

Yan Danyi: ?

What happened to being cool and self-possessed, disciplined and courteous?
