[Western Crossover] Workplace Romance Is Strictly Forbidden in Bludhaven!

Not long after joining the Bludhaven Police Department, Julian is horrified to realize he's fallen for Officer Grayson, who happens to be both his trainer and his partner!

This is bad. It's unprofessional. Julian tosses and turns, alternately blaming himself for being a hopeless romantic and sighing that falling for Officer Grayson is only natural. Who wouldn't like him? Almost everyone does. He's just that wonderful.

But his career comes first, so Julian painfully gives up. Maybe he's been looking a little down lately, because even Nightwing notices as he passes by. Dick Grayson, a police officer by day and vigilante by night, has long been wondering what his new recruit is brooding over. When he gets the chance, he pretends to be a stranger and tries to draw it out of him. Faced with the city's famous superhero, Julian has no suspicions. He sighs and admits, "I'm in love with a coworker."

A coworker! Who?!

Nightwing is stunned!

"But doesn't your department have a strict ban on workplace romances?" Nightwing asks, pretending to be calm.

"Yeah, that's why I'm in such a bad mood."

Nightwing breathes a sigh of relief and offers the universal solution: "Meet some other people. Take your mind off it."

Julian looks at him and blinks. "Like you?"

Nightwing suddenly remembers Julian saying, "I get to meet my idol up close," when he first joined the department. His heart gives a strange little leap. Almost against his will, he admits, "Yeah, like me."

But Julian stares at him for a moment, then laughs.

"Don't joke around," he says, clearly not taking him seriously. "Hero."

But as you can probably guess, Nightwing never gives up easily. After being rejected once, Dick Grayson secretly vows to save rookie officer Julian from the depths of workplace romance!

Nightwing: Workplace romance is strictly forbidden. It never ends well...

Nightwing: Wait, the person you like is your trainer, Officer Grayson?

Nightwing: ...Haha, is it too late to take back that bit about it being forbidden?

(Original blurb) Julian Browning lands a job at the Bludhaven Police Department after graduating with a degree in criminology from a local university.

His classmates initially plan to congratulate Julian on finding his first job, but when they hear that it's at the BPD, their faces fall. Everyone knows what Bludhaven is like. Working there is worse than working for the Gotham City Police Department. At least Gotham has Batman and the Bat Family, and the kind Wayne Enterprises even sets aside money to build shuttle buses for officers' commutes.

All Bludhaven has is the big corporation, Abstergo Industries!

What, you say Bludhaven has Nightwing too?

Yes, that's right, but Nightwing is the only vigilante Bludhaven has! Julian, what on earth are you thinking, signing up to be a cop here?! (shakes him)

"So what did you say?"

Officer Grayson, the one assigned to train the new recruit, laughs uncontrollably when he hears this part.

"I said I was a man with ideals, convictions, and determination." Julian takes the coffee Grayson hands him with a straight face.

"Seriously?"

"Fine, actually I'm Nightwing's obsessive superfan," Julian thinks, I knew no one would believe me, and casually makes something up. "I joined the BPD purely to get close to my idol."

He never expects anyone to take this nonsense seriously, but Grayson suddenly spits out his coffee right in front of him.
