Wrongly Married to a Warlord

Synopsis:

The age is in chaos, with warlords rising on every side.

Pei Muye lives up to his name. At fourteen, he rode across the land with his father and brothers. When the chaos began, he followed others in their struggle for power, carving his way to the post of military governor of Fanyang with a treasured black-gold saber. He obeyed neither orders nor summons, becoming a ruler in his own right.

The emperor was furious and sent an imperial proclamation calling for the suppression of the rebels, dispatched at full speed to the three circuits of Hebei. On the battlefield, Pei Muye swung his saber and heads fell. Then he used the proclamation to wipe his hands.

With a flick of his hand, the bloodstained proclamation struck a beautiful young woman.

She wore gold and jade hairpins, a strand of agate beads around her waist, a gown of shimmering brocade, and shoes set with pearls bright enough to blind anyone who looked at them.

She was beautiful... No, she was a very strange young woman.

Pei Muye looked at the young woman trembling among the corpses. Her luxurious dress made it obvious she didn't belong here. He grinned, then...

He abducted her and took her home to be his wife.

.

To earn enough to eat in this chaotic age, Su Yingxue sells herself for two taels of gold, taking the place of the military governor of Tanzhou's daughter in a marriage to Yizhou.

She can just run away along the way. No one in this world is born who can keep her trapped.

Su Yingxue bites into the golden ingot, thinking happily.

Then, while escaping, she inexplicably gets picked up by a young man who's foul-mouthed, scruffy, and murderous.

And then, just as inexplicably, she goes through a wedding ceremony with him and becomes his wife. They do everything they should and shouldn't do... more than once.

Kissed senseless, Su Yingxue thinks that this luxurious life of fine horses and carriages really is intoxicating. She nearly forgets who she is:

the adopted daughter of Chancellor Li in the capital, sent out of the city on a mission to unite the military governors of Dingxi and Pinglu in a joint campaign against Pei.

A love-at-first-sight, hopelessly lovestruck warlord x a carefree working woman in a chaotic age

Note: Set in an alternate late Tang dynasty, with a jumbled-up official system and entirely fictional place names.
