[Football] Pirlo and His Childhood Sweetheart

Years later, Pirlo has retired and grown a thick beard, but none of it has diminished his elegant, artistic air. His love story with his wife became famous around the world as he rose to prominence. Yet in every interview, reporters cannot help asking about this fairy tale, and no matter how many times he has answered, the story's leading man never tires of telling it.

Host: Andrea, we all know you and your wife were childhood sweethearts. I'm sure you've forgotten the first time you met her.

Pirlo paused, his thoughts instantly carried back to an autumn more than thirty years ago. In his low, slightly hoarse voice, he said slowly, "Quite the opposite. No matter how much time passes, I'll never forget the day we met."

That day, he had skipped class again to play soccer. He had barely crawled out of a dog hole when a dainty little girl, as pretty as a doll, crawled out of that very same hole?!

One look was all it took to tell: they were both truants.

"Hey, kid! Why aren't you in class? What are you doing out here?"

The doll-like girl shot him a glare and walked off. Pirlo understood perfectly: You're the kid! Your whole family are kids!

As if possessed, Pirlo couldn't stop worrying about her. He forgot all about soccer and followed the doll-like girl, asking her over and over:

"I skipped class to play soccer. What about you?"

The doll-like girl ignored him.

"You're so little. It's dangerous out here."

The doll-like girl said nothing.

"You should go back to class now, or your family will worry."

"You're so annoying!" Her baby-soft voice was full of authority.

Pirlo was genuinely worried. It would be terrible if a little kid like her got lost.

"How about coming to watch me play soccer?"

The doll-like girl finally stopped.

"You walk in front of me."

Pirlo: ...Fine, I'll walk in front. This kid is pretty smart, at least.

The heroine still has a Chinese heart. Her occupation is tentatively set as a doctor. If that changes, I'll update the blurb before posting.
