A year after his dads divorced, his younger dad died unexpectedly, and his older dad fell into a state of despair. Qin Miao woke up transmigrated to before his dads fell in love. But he hadn’t transmigrated as a person. He was a white-faced mantou cat.

And a stray, at that!

One day, Qin Miao ran into his younger dad, who was doing an internship at a military academy. He dashed over, flopped down beside the man’s legs, and meowed pitifully, rubbing and winding his tail around him. Just like that, his younger dad adopted him.

His younger dad was short on money, so the troublemaking cat made sure to behave. Later, while playing on a tablet at home, the good kitty discovered a pet variety show with a hefty cash prize. Thanks to his efforts, his younger dad signed up for the show.

As luck would have it, he ran into his CEO older dad on the show.

As luck would not have it, his older dad had brought a dog.

And that dog, which had been giving the cat the side-eye, immediately turned obsequious when it saw his younger dad.

In the year 4026 of the Star Calendar, the pet show At Home with Cute Pets officially premiered. In just two episodes, the chubby kitty and the stubborn dog became mortal enemies on the show, while humans who worshipped the Cat Church and beastfolk who followed the Loyal Dog Church argued fiercely offscreen.

One day, the fat cat and the stubborn dog noticed that whenever the older dad and younger dad looked at each other, the younger dad blushed and the older dad’s ears turned red.

The fat cat and the stubborn dog, who had been at each other’s throats all season, finally found common ground and suddenly got along.

Pause the arguing. First, ship the couple.

Bonus scene:

Qin Miao doesn’t like being watched while grooming himself, but that stupid dog always chooses that moment to stare at him. In a fit of embarrassment and anger, he swipes the dog with a paw. The dog gets the message and stops watching him groom himself. Some time later, the dog starts watching him use the toilet...

After returning, Qin Miao learns that the dog is his older brother. He hides from him for a month, but is still caught.

It’s an ordinary night. He’s fishing on the beach. The moment his brother shows up, he runs, only to stumble into a sand pit and roll around until he’s covered in mud.

His brother carries him back and throws him into the bathtub, then grips his chin and smiles. “Why are you running? It’s not like I’m going to eat you.”

Qin Miao instinctively slaps his brother, but his brother catches his hand and takes a big sniff. “Mmm, smells like a kitty.”

Qin Miao turns bright red. “Get lost!”

[Reading Guide]

■ Dual transmigration. The older and younger brothers aren’t blood-related. There will be plenty of scenes with the older and younger dads, and the younger brother is related by blood to them.

■ [Important] This is not a typical cute-pet story. It’s a personal-fantasy novel combining livestream variety shows (forum-style posts), parental romance, a beastfolk world, and a beloved and widely adored bottom.

After transmigrating, the setting is a futuristic interstellar world, with a ton of my own worldbuilding. It includes beastfolk inspired by the animal world, including but not limited to nesting periods, people who are both male and female (the top and bottom are not), and the top competing with and biting other contestants. There are both family and romantic storylines. The bottom is doted on by many people who like him, but the bottom and the top are absolutely devoted to each other, one-on-one.

■ Cats and dogs are both wonderful. They’re included because the story needs them, not to target any particular group.

■ Last but most important, this is a wish-fulfillment story (possibly a little unhinged). It’s more enjoyable if you don’t overthink it! (Bows.)
