The Female Warlord

I was born with a booming voice. I used to be hired to wail at funerals and curse people at confrontations.

Who could have guessed that a maid from a powerful household would come looking for me and ask me to go to their estate to curse out a concubine?

I waved her off. "I can't do that."

The maid tossed a purse of broken silver into my hands.

"Kui Niang, if you don't come, my young mistress really is going to be tormented to death."

Theme: A woman must stand strong. The light lies ahead.
