The Brooding Villain Tears Up His Bad Ending Script

[70% anti-piracy protection. Be sure to read the content warnings in the author’s note after Chapter 1.] [A quick recommendation for my upcoming modern danmei novel *Fire and Water Are Incompatible*. Blurb below.] Black-lotus sword cultivator top x demon king sword spirit bottom As the heir to the foremost immortal sect, Yu Xunjiang had a limitless future. The only thing that marred it was his inability to form a bond with a life-bound sword. Only after he was forced to fall into demonic cultivation did he discover he was the villain in a book, doomed to suffer so terribly just to serve as the protagonist’s stepping stone and foil. Yu Xunjiang smiled faintly and crushed the protagonist’s golden core beneath the tribulation of the nine heavens. The world was forced to restart. This time, his golden core was intact, and he was the center of everyone’s attention. Reborn, he was determined to rewrite this fatal ending with his own hands. His father scolded him for becoming increasingly unruly, so he played along, hunting pheasants with his junior brother and shopping for rouge with his junior sister. His junior disciples: “Our senior brother is handsome and kind. He’s the perfect choice to inherit the sect!” (Reputation +500) The Heavenly Dao gave the protagonist every advantage, so he opened an intelligence bureau and sold information about magical artifacts in advance, making sure the protagonist came up empty every time. Those who acquired the artifacts: “The head of the bureau is truly the greatest benefactor under heaven!” (Merit skyrockets +5000!) When people mocked him for being a sword cultivator without a life-bound sword, he calmly produced the sword he’d found in a secret realm. Its blade was covered in intricate patterns, and a red thread was wrapped around it, the other end firmly tied to his ring finger. The red-clad sword spirit nestled in his arms and glared sinisterly at the gossipers. “Spread another rumor and I’ll cut out your tongue.” -- Yan Changming had read a novel called *Proudly Above All*. The protagonist was unbelievably stupid and coasted through the whole story, while the true heaven-blessed genius fell from grace and met a tragic end. It made Yan Changming swear like a sailor. After he transmigrated into a book, Yan Changming became Yu Xunjiang’s sword spirit and transformed into a full-fledged fanboy. One day he’d beat up the disciples who talked behind Yu Xunjiang’s back, the next he’d make cutting remarks at the protagonist for deliberately provoking him. Ultimate demon king guardian, Yan Changming: “Say one bad thing about my boy, and I’ll make sure you’re out of commission in three minutes. No refunds.” Everyone said the red-clad sword spirit had a terrible temper, but Yu Xunjiang carried his sword in his arms wherever he went and even praised him sweetly for being good. A man who had always preferred simple, elegant things gave him the best of everything. He even shared half his bed with him, claiming that this was simply how sword cultivators and their sword spirits lived together. But did a sword spirit kiss his master? One day, Yu Xunjiang suddenly kissed him. Yan Changming froze on the spot: o.O? -- Everything was going well, until Yan Changming closed his eyes forever in Yu Xunjiang’s arms. The Heavenly Dao was defeated, the ending rewritten, and the Three Realms raised their cups in celebration. Only Yu Xunjiang, the new leader of the immortal sects, was nowhere to be seen. Someone said that on the day of the victory banquet, they had passed by Galan Temple. Though snow and wind raged, its staircase was in full bloom. The immortal sect leader whom everyone revered carried a black sword on his back and climbed eighty thousand steps, kneeling at every one. With utmost sincerity and faith, he sought only to bring back the one he loved. Upcoming modern danmei novel *Fire and Water Are Incompatible* When Lian Yi was in his second year of high school, his mother sent him to share an apartment with another boy. He’d planned to get through his last two years of high school in peace, but the boy looked at him with open disgust the first time they met. “A guy with a little ponytail and a pink headband? Are you gay?” Lian Yi: I’m your dad. -- After getting into a fight with his new roommate the moment they met, Lian Yi went out onto the balcony to reflect on life and lit a cigarette. Before he could bring it to his lips, someone doused it. His roommate covered his nose and held up the now-empty cup, reproaching him. “Can’t you have some decency? You’re making other people breathe your secondhand smoke.” Lian Yi: … He was going to teach this guy a lesson he’d never forget. -- On the first day of their relationship, his roommate gave him a serious lecture. “I’m pretty traditional. I can only be on top. No more than four times a week, or it’ll be bad for my health. And we have to use protection…” Lian Yi smiled without warmth. “I’m a pretty straightforward guy. Keep running your mouth and you’ll be the one on the bottom.” PS: 1. The top is reborn, the bottom transmigrates into a book. Both are strong, both are pure, and they’re each other’s first love. More or less, it’s a story about a black-lotus top being saved by a little ray of sunshine. It’s not a purely sweet romance. 2. Readers with extreme character preferences, please proceed with caution. If you get annoyed, I’m not responsible. 3. No dreaming or breaking them up. They’re a couple, so why are you fantasizing about them? 4. More details to come. Theme: Overcome adversity.
