What to Do When a Fortune Falls from the Sky

After housing reforms, a wave of home buying swept the market. The Mai couple dipped into their savings to buy a new home in the new district. As soon as they got the deed, their three children showed up with gifts.

The eldest son's child needed to enroll in school and register at a new school district. The second daughter, recently divorced, needed a place to stay. The youngest son was looking for a home to start his marriage.

Old Mai neither refused nor agreed. Holding on to the deed, he enjoyed his children's flattery.

One by one, the children offered to pay for renovations to prove their devotion.

Drills roared through the new home.

The second daughter found gold bricks inside the master bedroom wall. The eldest son pried jewelry out of the ceiling. The youngest son dug up the floor tiles and discovered...

A body wrapped in concrete.

They were too shocked to speak.

Old Mai wailed, "We haven't even spent a day here, and our new home has turned into a house of death."

The elderly couple wanted to report it to the police, but their children stopped them.

Protect the treasure in the walls or clear the dead person's name? Without hesitation, they all chose the former.

And so began a battle to protect their fortune.
