Seeking Defeat, Yet Never Defeated

A star from another world falls, and two souls travel the same path. In You’an, a border town sealed beneath winter snow, Dongfang Shu, whose sword heart has been wounded, and Bai Jiqing, a female cultivator from the Medicine Valley, leave their sect behind and find solace in each other. Together, they welcome a child born of strange fate, “Mu Bai.” At the same time, the three-hundred-year-old Sword Immortal Bai Fengling and the young nobleman Dugu Xin await the birth of a child named “Qiu Bai” beside the Azure River. The fates of these two children, who should have had nothing to do with each other, are quietly stitched together by the “Ming Sect Experiment” beyond the void. The souls of “Dongfang Bubai” and “Dugu Qiubai,” from a low-martial world, are crossing time and space to inhabit lives not yet born.

A web of conspiracies silently spreads from the secluded forbidden grounds of the Dugu clan, to the bloodstained caves of the Tianji Sect, and even to observation chambers beyond the dimensions. When a soul obsessed with being “number one under heaven” collides with this world’s fate of “seeking defeat”; when the ancient bloodline of a cultivation clan meets the unyielding will of a foreign-world conqueror, a struggle and fusion concerning the very nature of existence and transcending reincarnation begins. This is the struggle of an experimental subject awakening, and an epic rebellion against predetermined fate, written by the players and the pieces alike beneath the chessboard.
