A Bright Future Ahead

Set in the final days of the Star Calendar, this story follows fifteen children rescued from secretive, codename-based genetic experiments. The mysterious time sculptor Ju Yilong places them in separate homes. The Meicheng Orphanage takes in five children, including Mai He and Jiang Xinbai, while the rest are sent to powerful families, both ancient and prominent, such as the Wu and Ye families. Their stories intertwine with Wu Xie's (Omega) anxiety over his identity during pregnancy, the everyday observations of figures from an earlier era like Zhang Qiling, and the children's confusion and tentative steps as they face an unknown future in their new surroundings. From the dim compartments of the rescue ship to the rain-soaked courtyard in Meicheng, from the undercurrents by West Lake to the choices facing ancient families, scattered seeds have quietly been sown. Marked by the experiments and burdened by fog-shrouded pasts, beneath what seems like a peaceful welcome, each of their "great futures" is slowly unfolding. On the vast scroll of fate, points of light and shadows begin to weave together in silence.
