Bones in the Well

Architectural designer Jing Ran travels to the ancient town of Liuxi to gather inspiration. On the night of the full moon, he witnesses the eerie reflection of two moons beside an old well. Emergency physician Xie Nanxiang handles several bizarre deaths in a row, each crime scene marked by white chrysanthemums blooming out of season. The two men's fates unexpectedly intertwine, drawing them into a curse that has been cycling for a thousand years.

Liu Wenyuan, a Tang Dynasty scholar who sleeps at the bottom of the well, died unjustly and harbors such intense resentment that he created the "Well of Reincarnation." The Shen family of Shen Manor has guarded the well for generations, and every sixty years they must sacrifice someone resembling Liu Wenyuan to quell his resentment. Now the seventh cycle has begun. Jing Ran, Xie Nanxiang, Lian Chengbi, Shen Wei, and Shen Mian: people with similar faces but from different times and places, all marked as potential sacrifices.

From a miniature prison to the martial world illusion of The Eleventh Son, from the modern town of Liuxi to Ming Dynasty Shen Manor, the two struggle to survive through countless overlapping times and spaces. A sachet of white chrysanthemums is both a kind gift and a mark of death. The ancient well is both an exit and a cage. Every death begins a new cycle, and every cycle brings deeper despair.

As the night of the full moon arrives once more, the seventh sacrifice is about to be offered. Will they repeat a tragedy that has lasted a thousand years, or find salvation by breaking the cycle? Caught between truth and illusion, they must find a true way out. Deep in the ancient well that has swallowed countless lives lies the ultimate secret, one that can change everything.
