Ning Yu comes from a privileged background, but after entering Saint St. Noble Academy, he is only a third-tier student.
He has always looked down on those arrogant heirs of the Federation's most powerful families, but he only watches from a distance, unwilling to get himself into trouble.
Yet one rainy night, while being tormented, he still ends up barging into the music room where F3 is playing the piano.
A tired, old, even boring plot unfolds in his life. Ning Yu becomes the target of F3's teasing and bullying.
Ning Yu sighs. He doesn't think of himself as the weak, easily bullied, yet weed-like resilient protagonist of a Mary Sue story.
He won't just endure being bullied, and he doesn't have a protagonist's resilience.
Sure enough, a System appears before Ning Yu. The protagonist is someone else.
He is in a completely broken Mary Sue novel.
The four male leads are all people he knows: Saint St.'s famous F4.
After skimming through the plot, Ning Yu offers a measured assessment: "One pervert, one masochist, one violent psycho, and one idiot."
System: "Isn't the fourth male lead your childhood friend...?"
Ning Yu: "I know him. He's naturally an idiot."
Ning Yu uses a few tricks to become F1's savior and join his gang of lackeys.
With F1's protection, F3 never gets another chance to bully him.
When F3 finds out that Ning Yu has attached himself to someone else just to avoid being teased by him, he is furious, though he doesn't let it show.
He grips Ning Yu's chin hard. "You cheap slut. I'll just wait until he dumps you. That'll be fun to watch."
Ning Yu's face hardens, and he slaps F3 across the face. F3's expression darkens as he watches Ning Yu stand behind F1, his eyes blazing with fury.
But F1 isn't exactly a good guy either.
Ning Yu puts them both in the idiot category, failing to notice the equally brooding, inscrutable looks in F1 and F3's eyes.
Perhaps Ning Yu is too good at being F1's lackey. F2, who has always been close to F1, secretly threatens him too, forcing him to join their gang.
Ning Yu gradually finds himself caught between the group, acting as their lackey.
Every day, he walks on eggshells, playing a thrilling game of double agent. Though Ning Yu is always stone-faced and keeps others at arm's length, he thinks he's pretty good at being a lackey to this bunch of lunatics.
Not one of them suspects a thing.
Until his childhood friend, F4, transfers to Saint St. Academy and shatters the peace.
Only then does the untouchable F4 of Saint St. realize that he isn't the only one in Ning Yu's life.
F1 knew from the start that Ning Yu had approached him with careful calculation, but he didn't mind being a shield or a blade in Ning Yu's hands.
Because he also enjoyed personally cutting off Ning Yu's unnecessary ties to other men.
This isn't that kind of lackey.
Cool and aloof bottom, with a frail disposition that doesn't affect him.
