The Days I Pretended to Be Widowed

In the apocalypse, it seems perfectly normal for two high-ranking ability users from neighboring bases to loathe each other. There are enemies everywhere, after all. Even if Jing Xiaolu orders Cong Nusen to jump into a river, leap off a cliff, or tie himself up. Even if Cong Nusen blows Jing Xiaolu off a cliff, blasts him into the sky, or blows the snacks right out of his hands. Doesn’t that just prove they’re sworn enemies? Then one day, a friend from the post-apocalyptic world suddenly asks, “Why do you two hate each other so much? What started it, anyway?” Jing Xiaolu: “He was late for our date. He didn’t take our relationship seriously.” Friend: “...Wait, what? Huh?” Cong Nusen: “He lost his wedding ring and didn’t even ask me for a new one. He didn’t take our relationship seriously.” Friend: “??? Hold on. Didn’t you both say you were widowers?” Jing/Cong: “Is there really that much difference?” 1v1, slight age gap, happy ending. Jing is the top, Cong is the bottom. Short-tempered top x short-tempered bottom. Word-spirit ability x precision demolition ability. They fight whenever they meet over the smallest things, but stand by each other through life-and-death crises. Content warnings: 1. The author is going wild. If you want a couple who brawl, this may be for you. They might not literally trade punches, but they do find ways to fight each other. 2. The author is going wild. There may be scenes with a queen-like top, but I personally don’t like the traditional version. I only like it when the person involved doesn’t want to play that role, so there may be very little of it, and it may not be quite the right flavor. If you’re a fan of queen-like tops, don’t get your hopes up. If that’s a dealbreaker, please read with caution. 3. The point of view serves the story.
