Silf Lin x Ari Beig

My name is Miller. I’m a lowly intern in the Behavioral Analysis Unit of the Criminal Investigation Bureau. My daily work consists of sorting files and submitting reports to my superiors. It’s tedious and boring.

One day, a new criminal investigator joined the Behavioral Analysis Unit. I heard he had doctoral degrees in several fields and had been specially recruited by the senior leadership. Setting aside his intelligence, he was almost too beautiful: golden hair, blue eyes, and an air of refinement. But when he looked around, there was always a hint of disdain in his eyes.

It’s worth mentioning that when he first arrived, he seemed to argue with our supervisor every day. By the way, our supervisor is a typical gentleman in a suit. I was lucky enough to see him fight once, and discovered he was very graceful even when brawling.

Anyway, maybe the two of them just had incompatible values. That brilliant, golden-haired beauty was indifferent to everything, but he argued with our supervisor every day. A few times I saw him leave the supervisor’s office red-faced and furious. He must have been really angry.

Our supervisor was just as bad. He was usually polite and gentlemanly, so I couldn’t understand why he always picked on this new guy.

But I’m only a lowly intern, so all I could do was quietly stick up for the beauty.

But, but, can someone tell me why they suddenly kissed at a crime scene?!

Little Scene 1:

Silf Lin grabbed Ari Beig and hurried into a small alley. He took off the beret Ari had put on his head, let down his pinned-up hair, leaned against the wall, pulled Ari toward him, and tugged off his suit jacket.

Ari braced his right hand against the wall beside Silf Lin’s face and leaned toward him. Somewhat helplessly, he smoothed the stray hairs by Silf Lin’s ear and said softly, “Aren’t you going to run? They’re almost here.”

Silf Lin slid down a little, wedging one leg between Ari’s and brushing the other against the outside of his thigh. From this angle, he was almost a head shorter than Ari.

He tugged Ari’s tie tight and pulled him close, raising an eyebrow. His warm breath fell across Ari’s face. “Aren’t I hiding from them right now?”

Ari watched him with interest and smiled. “This is how you hide?”

“Of course. A couple getting all lovey-dovey and sharing a kiss in a deserted alley late at night? Totally normal, right?”

Little Scene 2:

“Want to spar?” Silf Lin raised an eyebrow at Ari Beig.

“Are you coming to fight me in a suit?” Ari asked with a smile.

“Just indulging your suit fetish.” Silf Lin drew out the words “suit fetish” on purpose, making them sound teasingly intimate.

“Honestly, that’s unfair. I really do fight in a suit out of habit. I don’t have any sort of ‘suit fetish.’” Ari looked half amused and half exasperated.

Once they started fighting, Ari discovered that Silf Lin was also wearing the cologne he’d given him the day before, along with the bracelet he’d gifted him.

Ari pinned Silf Lin down, but held his body suspended so he wouldn’t weigh him down. He gripped Silf Lin’s wrist and kept stroking the bracelet there until the skin beneath it turned red.

“You didn’t come here to fight me,” Ari said in a slightly hoarse voice, speaking low by Silf Lin’s ear.

Silf Lin turned his head slightly and looked at him from the corner of his eye, a seductive smile in the corners of his eyes and the curve of his brows. He lifted his head a little, his golden hair brushing Ari’s cheek, and asked softly, “Then what do you think I came for?”

“To seduce me.” Ari stroked his face and lowered his head to kiss him.

“Wrong. I came to fight you.” Silf Lin rolled over, and in an instant, their positions were reversed.

“I surrender.” Ari raised his hands in defeat. “I was wrong before. I do have a ‘suit fetish.’ And a ‘blond fetish,’ a ‘gold-rimmed-glasses fetish’… Basically, I have a ‘Silf Lin fetish.’ It’s seriously affecting my performance. I’ve lost all desire to fight, so I’m laying down my arms.”

“Mm, that’s a pretty good surrender.” Silf Lin grinned smugly and leaned down to complete the kiss he’d failed to land earlier. “I accept.”

Later, the colleagues at the Criminal Investigation Bureau tacitly agreed that their supervisor had willingly given up the title of “Investigation Bureau Fighting Champion” because he’d been bewitched by a pretty face.

A power couple who dote on each other.

An unconventional mystery and crime-solving novel. It’s set in an invented world, probably in an era where different ethnic groups live together, and most people are of mixed heritage. People are divided by region, not by country.

Everything is the author’s wild invention, with plot holes everywhere. The romance may matter more than the plot.

World One:

A teasing fox-spirit seme x an “abstinent” Taoist priest uke (the uke gets a little crazy later on)

A fox cultivates for a thousand years and finally takes human form, only to run into a Taoist priest who specializes in hunting demons. The innocent fox thinks he’s handsome and seduces him in every way, completely unaware of what he’s doing.

The Taoist priest’s merciful heart, which makes him break his principles, eventually sows the seeds of disaster.

“Before the gods, does your heart of the Way remain unshaken?”

The Taoist priest lowered his head and, for the first time, defied that voice. “I’m human too. I have feelings and desires too.”

“Humans and demons can never be together! You’ll only bring ruin to yourself and others. Neither of you will come to a good end!”

In the end, the Taoist priest let the fox go. But his anguished words, “Little demon, go,” brought no happy ending for them both. Instead, he found the little fox’s corpse.

[Host, would you like to accept my help and rewrite this bad ending?]

[He doesn’t love me. Why should I keep forcing him?] The little fox smiled bitterly, utterly desolate.

Then the little fox saw the Taoist priest, who had always seemed calm and self-possessed, seemingly unmoved by him, holding his corpse. He slaughtered gods and Buddhas, practiced forbidden arts, and desperately tried to bring him back to life.

World Two:

A proud “love-struck” guitarist seme x a mature daddy-type vocalist uke

The relationship between the guitarist and vocalist of Demon, a masked band that took the world by storm, had always been ambiguous. To their fans, they had broken up and gotten back together many times. Sometimes they were sickeningly affectionate, and sometimes they seemed to wish they could be a hundred thousand miles apart. Either way, no one could deny that they were madly in love with each other.

Later, Demon mysteriously broke up overnight. All their fans believed that the vocalist and guitarist had turned their love into hate, causing the whole band to split up on bad terms.

Strangely, every other band member later found a new place in life, but the vocalist disappeared without a trace.

And every song the guitarist released afterward was steeped in the resentment of a “scorned wife” and the grief of a “widow” whose husband had died.

“If you don’t come back soon, I’m going to fall in love with someone else.”

In the darkness, the leather shoes that had been moving away suddenly changed direction and headed straight for the light. Their owner hurried over, cradled the beautiful drunk’s head, and murmured, “You’re not allowed to.”

The psychic was famous far and wide, but not for his remarkable ability to communicate with the dead. He was famous for catching ghosts.

“You know that frequent spirit channeling shortens a psychic’s life. You won’t live long.”

“You also know a psychic can never be with a ghost. Either you die, or he lives.”

“But a psychic won’t become a ghost after death, and a ghost can never come back to life.”

“Oh. What if I earn some good karma? If I have enough of it, can I become a ghost?” The psychic’s eyelids drooped. His pale, refined face was always expressionless.
