Wait, I’m Pursuing the War God Who’s Gone Mad?

I transmigrated into a peony in the Celestial Realm and was given a mission. Five hundred years ago, the War God Shangyang sealed the Six Ancient Demons and perished. In this life, he has been reborn as a mortal. My mission is to help him purge the lingering remnants of the Six Demons from his body and return to the Celestial Realm. If I complete this mission, I can earn a place among the immortals, become the Fairy of Everlasting Renown, and have a home of my own. What a tempting offer! It beats working for a company by a mile. But the Jade Emperor failed to mention that my target has already fallen into demonic cultivation. The difficulty rating is five stars. After descending to the mortal world, I stared at the demon before me and went numb. The mighty War God had become a pillar of the Demon Realm. Who could I even complain to about this? I gritted my teeth and followed him, showering my target with concern and affection. I went all out, sparks flying, but what I wanted was to be his best friend, not his girlfriend. Until one day, he pinned me against the wall and launched into a jealous, possessive tirade. “You were only nice to me because of that man in the Celestial Realm, weren’t you?” “He’s been dead for five hundred years, and you still can’t forget him?” Why make one person into a filling sandwiched between two others? And wasn’t I supposed to be on the friendship route? Sister novel: The One I Secretly Loved Made Me a War God is complete!
