Can't a Face-Blind Person Become a Great Detective?

[]

Third-rate detective Sanzhi Shi wants to improve her standing on the detective rankings, so she decides to head to a big city in search of a chance to rise through the ranks.

On her first day in Tokyo, she encounters a murder at the station and is listed as a suspect by the police.

On her second day in Tokyo, she encounters a murder at a restaurant and is listed as a suspect by her fellow detectives.

On her third day in Tokyo, she encounters a murder at a cafe and is identified as the killer by a witness.

On her fourth day in Tokyo, she encounters a murder at a hotel and is identified as an accomplice by a passerby.

On her Nth day in Tokyo, she encounters a murder at Tokyo Tower... Wait, no, a helicopter sweeps across Tokyo Tower, and a passerby identifies her as a criminal.

Sanzhi Shi: ...Huh? What got swept across? Tokyo Tower?!

Come to think of it, Sanzhi Shi can't help falling into deep thought. There are way too many murders in this big city.

Could this be why Tokyo's detectives all rank so highly?

But are there really enough Japanese people to go around? At the rate she's running into murder cases, if every detective is like her, won't Japan be doomed sooner or later?! Maybe she should start planning ahead...

"Mr. Amuro," Sanzhi Shi tells the cafe server, sounding rather melancholy. "I feel like Japan's going to be doomed soon. Where do you think I should go then?"

"Actually, I think the neighboring country would be nice, but..."

"Maybe I should go to America, though I hear..."

"Britain's out, the food is too awful..."

"Norway would be nice, but I'm afraid of the cold..."

"Mr. Amuro," Sanzhi Shi asks again, "where do you think I should go?"

She looks the server up and down, pauses, then says, "By the way, you've gotten so much paler today, Mr. Amuro. What whitening product are you using? It works really well."

Azusa: ...

Azusa: "Miss Sanzhi Shi, if you're looking for Mr. Amuro, he's at the table behind you."

Sanzhi Shi blinks in confusion. She looks at the blond, dark-skinned server behind her, then at the server in front of her, who's successfully whitened his skin and dyed his hair black. After a long moment, she suddenly understands. "I see! It's the clone technique!"

Azusa: ...

Amuro Tooru: ...

"Miss Third-Rate," the blond Mr. Amuro says, "if you're this face-blind, forget about becoming a famous detective and go see a doctor."

Third-Rate Sanzhi Shi: Huh? Why did he suddenly call her by her surname? Is he mad? Why?!

* Third-Rate Sanzhi Shi is face-blind.

* For some reason, Azusa's full name turns into gibberish whenever I try to type it.
