In the “Great Beast-Taming Era,” people merge with their pet beasts and transform into mechs. It is the only measure of a person's worth. Other people's pet beasts turn into heavy battle tanks or reconnaissance aircraft, but Ryan's pet beast, Wufu the cheese cat, stands less than two meters tall after transforming. Its cuteness is S-tier, but its combat ability is F-tier. As a proud “maintenance technician,” Ryan's ideal life is to repair mechs for S-tier heroes, collect a steady paycheck, and lie flat with Wufu for the rest of his life. But a top-tier Beast King invasion from deep within the beast tide shatters his retirement dream. When everyone is pushed to the brink, Wufu's fur stands on end as it tries to save him. A blinding flash of light cuts across the battlefield, followed by the roar of the legendary “Emperor Engine.” The cheese cat that used to do nothing but knead with its paws has evolved into a next-generation, cat-shaped Gundam equipped with an anti-star cannon. From then on, Ryan and his “General Wufu” are swept into the heart of a maelstrom involving humanity's strongest fighters, Beast Kings from another world, and a mysterious rebel army. When everyone covets Wufu's power and wants to turn it into a weapon of war, Ryan holds his beloved cat and shouts to the world: “It's my partner, not a weapon. If you want to touch it, you'll have to ask my anti-star cannon first.”
