The Lost Brass Gear

An old clockmaker dies mysteriously in a locked room. The only clue at the scene is a brass gear stopped at three in the morning. His apprentice, Lin Xia, discovers that every antique clock the master repaired bears gears engraved with different names and dates, and each person vanished mysteriously on the date marked. As Lin Xia investigates, she uncovers not only a decades-spanning series of crimes, but also a close connection between the master’s death and the memories she lost as a child. Behind the turning gears lies a brutal struggle between human nature and time.
