Sweetheart of the ’80s: The Cold-Faced Officer Clings to Her Night After Night

[Sharp-tongued Northeast wife × stoic, secretly affectionate military officer who dotes on his wife]

[Marriage first, love later + everyday parenting + sizzling tension + career comeback]

After working herself to death from staying up all night, office worker Li Qianqian opens her eyes to find herself the pitiful younger sister in the 1980s, forced to marry in her older sister’s place.

Her mother sobs, “Huo Yanchen is an officer. Marry him and you’ll be a military wife. Your sister turned down this good fortune, so now it’s your turn!”

Li Qianqian gives a cold laugh, packs her things, and boards an overnight train to join her husband at his post.

Only after arriving at the base does she discover

Her military officer husband is not only handsome enough to make her knees weak, he also comes with two adorable little ones.

But can someone explain why Battalion Commander Huo, so cold and taciturn during the day, turns into a completely different person at night?

By day

Huo Yanchen stands ramrod-straight in his uniform, his expression stern. “Comrade Li, please mind your conduct.”

At night

He pins her against the wall, winding her hair around his fingers. “Qianqian, call out louder… I like hearing it.”

From the bed kang to the kitchen, from the bathroom to the study, Li Qianqian is worked until her eyes brim with tears. “What happened to you being cold and passionless?!”

Huo Yanchen chuckles. “When it comes to you, I’m always passionate.”

Later, her older sister shows up, sniffling with regret. “My brother-in-law was supposed to be mine…”

Huo Yanchen draws his little wife into his arms. “The only person I, Huo Yanchen, have ever set my heart on is Li Qianqian.”

Everyone in the military compound knows

The fearsome Huo, ruthless with his troops and fierce in battle, spoils his wife rotten.

And Li Qianqian, stroking her swollen belly and gazing at a cabinet full of gold bracelets and necklaces, sighs:

“Life is just too sweet!”
