The Shanghai Case Files

A bloody murder at a dance hall turns the dandy detective Lu Yao and the poker-faced team leader Qiao Chusheng into sworn enemies.

Lu Yao thinks he's reckless; Qiao Chusheng can't stand his smart mouth.

But the murders keep coming, and an order from headquarters forces the pair together as “the least reliable partners in Shanghai.”

From then on, every crime scene is pure chaos, and every investigation turns into the two of them undermining each other.

Lu Yao: “Qiao Chusheng! Did your brain grow backwards along with your muscles?”

Qiao Chusheng: “Lu Santu, say one more word and I'll handcuff you to my desk!”

Only Bai Youning, a reporter for the Shanghai Daily, follows behind them with a handful of melon seeds and shining eyes:

“Fight! Come on, fight! Wait, that look you just gave each other was strange. There's something going on!”

In the bustling, fog-shrouded city of Shanghai, one uses reason to calculate the human heart, while the other protects justice by instinct. As they solve one bizarre case after another, they also try to work out the hardest mystery of all: their feelings for each other.
