Dreams Left Behind in Mo City

Chen Mo, a 32-year-old interior designer, unexpectedly gains the “yin-yang eye” after a car accident on a rainy night, drawing him into a series of supernatural incidents in Mocheng. Guided by Lao Zhang, an undertaker at a funeral home, Chen Mo goes from helping a little girl’s ghost recover her cloth doll to battling a deadly water ghost. Gradually, he discovers that every ghost is whispering the same name: Su Wanqing.

With help from Lin Wan, a graduate student in folklore, Chen Mo uncovers a long-buried tragedy from the Republican era. The refined young lady Su Wanqing fell in love with the painter Zhou Wenxuan, and was buried alive by the powerful Zhao family. Her resentment never faded, leaving her trapped for a hundred years. The Zhao family used an evil formation to suppress Su Wanqing and preserve their family fortune, and Chen Mo was chosen as the next “substitute” for the formation.

To clear Su Wanqing’s name, Chen Mo risks being hunted down and rallies the hundred ghosts harmed by the Zhao family. In the end, he exposes the truth and destroys the evil formation. Once all is calm, Chen Mo’s ability to “see ghosts” gradually fades. But six months later, the arrival of Su Nian, a distant descendant of Su Wanqing, reveals that remnants of the Zhao family are still at large. A new path of obsession and redemption is quietly beginning.
