From the Ruins, I Draw My Sword and Split the Sky

Lin Zhao, a modern history graduate student, transmigrates to the Great Jing Dynasty after an accident while restoring the Western Xia manuscript The Guizang Notes, her soul entering the body of a borderland youth named Shen Zhao. Armed with modern knowledge and the manuscript's hidden secrets, she is drawn into a martial-world catastrophe sparked by the Map of Mountains and Rivers. The Tiansha Sect stirs up turmoil in the martial world to resurrect a tyrant from the previous dynasty, while righteous sects such as the Xuansword Sect and Medicine King Valley teeter on the brink of disaster.

Lin Zhao befriends Lu Chen, a disciple of the Xuansword Sect, and Gu Qinghuan, the young master of Qingyu Pavilion, among others. She fuses modern kickboxing with ancient martial arts to create the Thirteen Windbreaker Forms, and uses her forensic knowledge to solve strange cases and unravel deadly poisons. As her investigation deepens, she discovers that she is the reincarnation of Lin Yan, a junior official of the Bureau of Astronomy in the previous dynasty, and that the manuscript is the key to salvation across a thousand years. At last, she gathers the Alliance to Protect Jing and shatters the villains' plot with the Guixu Sword. Before the rift in time and space closes, she must choose whether to return, leaving behind a martial-world legend of protecting all living beings across the ages.
