The Immortal Venerable and the Demon Clan's Saintess

Immortal Venerable Gu Yan is tasked with guarding the boundary between the immortal and demon realms when he encounters Su Xiao, the demon clan's Saintess. She was forced to come to the border and “break the seal” because the demon clan was holding her people hostage. Gu Yan realizes that Su Xiao is kindhearted and lets her go, but the immortal sects hold him responsible. To save her people, Su Xiao has no choice but to continue breaking the seal, and Gu Yan chooses to help her. Together, they uncover the secret technique the demon clan leader used to control her people, break the control, and persuade the immortal and demon realms to agree to a temporary truce. In the end, Gu Yan gives up his position as Immortal Venerable and joins Su Xiao in working toward reconciliation between the two realms.
