The Memory Witness

At the Hall of Memories, the memories of the dead are no longer sealed away in archives. They have become immersive experiences that visitors can pay to enter. Anna, a guide with extraordinary empathy and a gift for leading others, opens the door to the final chapters of other people’s lives. But one routine tour becomes the beginning of her nightmare. As Anna guides a guest through the last memories of a detective who died in the line of duty while hunting a murderer, the killer’s image sears itself into her consciousness like a branding iron. Even more terrifying, the killer seems to have sensed this accidental “witness” through the thread of memory connecting them.

Anna’s peaceful life collapses in an instant. Reflections in mirrors, the feeling of being watched wherever she goes, and a relentless, lethal pursuit all prove that the demon from the memory has entered the real world. Forced to flee, she discovers that the detective had been investigating an unsolved series of bloody murders. With no one to turn to, Anna can only use herself as bait, teetering on the perilous edge between reality and memory. Drawing on her professional instincts, she searches for flaws in the fragments of the killer’s memories, but each discovery triggers more dark echoes from the killer and launches another harrowing chase through her mind. The police doubt her sanity, leaving her to face the danger alone. As she peels back the layers of mystery, she uncovers the killer’s twisted origins: an “executioner” born amid the bloodshed of childhood.
