Tears of Crimson Pearls

By the Spirit River, the Crimson Pearl Immortal Herb received daily watering with sweet dew from the Divine Attendant Shen Ying, allowing it to endure through the ages, shed its grassy, woody form, and cultivate a woman's body. To repay his great kindness, she followed Shen Ying down to the mortal realm, determined to repay his care with every tear she would shed throughout her life. But after descending to the mortal world, Jiangzhu, under the assumed name Lin Jiang, was shocked to discover that the Divine Attendant's soul had not been reborn whole in a single person. Instead, it had shattered during a catastrophe, and its fragments had scattered among the souls of countless mortals. Only by gathering the tears of sincere gratitude shed by people throughout the world in appreciation of her, or of the kindness she represents, could she reunite Shen Ying's soul and fulfill her vow of repayment. Clutching the immortal herb that embodied her true origin, now withering day by day, she set out on a long and arduous journey.
