Locke: Proof of the One and Only

In the post-cloning era, humanity has achieved near-immortality through consciousness synchronization. Every affluent individual has multiple clone backups. Death is no longer the end, just a brief interruption in memory. But Locke Saul is an anomaly in this age: a one-of-a-kind person with no backups. After an accident in his childhood left his genetic sequence and neural map impossible to copy, he became the only person in the world who can truly die forever.

His uniqueness makes him the perfect scapegoat. The massive clone crime syndicate known as the Homologs has set its sights on him. They are numerous, share memories, and act in perfect coordination, weaving a vast conspiracy in the shadows of the city. Whenever someone needs to take the fall, a carefully disguised clone of Locke appears at the crime scene.

Overnight, Locke goes from an ordinary mechanic to the most wanted criminal in the city. He must flee through a world filled with faces that look just like his own. He can trust no one, because anyone could be a member of the Homologs. To uncover the truth about them and prove his innocence, he must use his one advantage as a one-of-a-kind person: an independent mind no one can predict, and the will to survive that flares when he truly faces death. In the end, he must prove that even in a world where people can be copied without limit, a unique, irreplaceable life still has unquestionable worth and power.
