The Top-Tier Star of Household Scheming

The heroine, Wen Su, is a tea master who seeks inner peace. To help her friend, the hero, fend off his family’s pressure to marry, she impulsively marries into a wealthy family where every member is a drama queen. Faced with a difficult mother-in-law, a competitive sister-in-law, and relatives who sneer at her, Wen Su remains calm and dignified. She brings the tea principles of “calm, harmony, elegance, and integrity” to family battles, quietly setting out a tea service whenever the household goes to war. A cup of calming tea sends her furious mother-in-law off to sleep; a bitter cup of kuding tea shuts up relatives who make snide remarks; and an elaborate kung fu tea performance leaves a rival who came to provoke her feeling thoroughly inadequate. The hero, Ji Chen, thought he had married a pushover, only to discover he’d brought home a “saint of household warfare.” He watches the show with delight and secretly starts a social media account livestreaming his wife’s daily “demon-slaying” routines. The account unexpectedly goes viral. In the end, through her unique tea-based tactics, the heroine wins the respect of the entire family and her husband’s love without shedding a drop of blood.
