In the futuristic city of Xingzhou, Shen Zhaozhao runs the Guixu Museum of Old Things, specializing in restoring “future keepsakes” that hold emotional memories, such as old electronic devices, faded clothes, and broken accessories. One day, she receives an old phone engraved with a little sun. When she turns it on, she finds an unsent message: “Wanzhao, I was wrong. I shouldn’t have missed your birthday.” The phone belonged to her ex-boyfriend, Gu Mingyuan. Three years ago, he missed her birthday because of overtime, and they broke up. As she restores the phone, she pieces together the truth from its contents, including a birthday gift list in the notes and screenshots of work messages in their chat history. Gu Mingyuan had worked late to buy her a limited-edition necklace, but got stuck in traffic and arrived too late. In the end, Gu Mingyuan comes to pick up the phone. The unspoken feelings preserved in the old keepsake bring them to an understanding, and they embrace once more.
