The Adopted Daughter Becomes a Tour Guide

Su Tangtang, a comedy sketch writer, accidentally transmigrates into the adopted daughter of the wealthy Lin family. Everyone in the family is a drama queen, from her hypocritical stepmother and scheming stepsister to her indifferent father, and each of them wants to use her as a pawn. Su Tangtang plans to embrace the “lie-flat” lifestyle and do nothing at all, but then she discovers that her family acts so badly, with so many glaring plot holes, that it seriously offends her professional sensibilities. And so begins a hilarious family drama in which the “laid-back” adopted daughter turns the tables and teaches her whole family how to act. When her stepmother frames her for theft, she launches into an impromptu “hands-on lesson,” critiquing her expressions, lines, and blocking, and suggesting she add a spotlight and background music. When her stepsister slanders her at a banquet, she pulls out a scorecard and gives her a dismal 2.5 out of 10 for both “emotional impact” and “central conflict.” By deconstructing comedy, she turns every plot against her into a farce that leaves everyone in stitches, sending the entire wealthy household completely off the rails. In the end, after running the whole family ragged, she walks away with a generous settlement for emotional damages and sets off to build her own comedy career.
