Palace Intrigue in the Future

Ye Ningshuang, the deposed empress confined to the cold palace in the old Great Yan era, was falsely accused of trying to murder a prince and left in a vegetative state. She was cryogenically preserved until the future, in the dynasty of the "New Great Yan." The future court retained its feudal system, but its consorts competed for favor with technologies such as AI surveillance and genetic modification. Brought into the palace as a "living fossil," Ye Ningshuang became a "special consort" tasked with helping the emperor study ancient culture. She had no golden finger and relied entirely on traditional palace-intrigue savvy: reading people's expressions to spot AI blind spots, winning the emperor's trust by using moxibustion to cure his insomnia, and recruiting an old eunuch from her era to gather intelligence. She methodically foiled the future consorts' technological schemes, from fabricating a prince's genetic profile to using drones for surveillance. In the end, she exposed the crimes of the villainous Lady Su and became the emperor's principal wife, reminding the palace of the value of humanity.
