The Dao-Pattern Crime Files

While investigating the case, Ling Ye touches a mysterious piece of ancient jade and is instantly erased by an incomprehensible force. But death is not the end. He discovers that his consciousness has returned to three days before the crime, and he has awakened an unprecedented ability: he can “see” the traces of the “Dao patterns” left behind by time and space.

The world is utterly transformed in his eyes. Emotions linger in the air as colors; the past is etched into objects; and lies cannot hide amid the ripples of time and space. That “impossible crime” turns out to be only the tip of the iceberg of a grand cultivation-world murder plot spanning the ages.

The victim, Su Liuying, is no ordinary person. Her very existence is a great mystery. Ling Ye must use the advantage of being reborn and his newfound power to reinvestigate the case in the gray zone where ordinary people and cultivators intersect. The enemies he faces are no longer ordinary criminals, but terrifying beings capable of manipulating time and space and erasing cause and effect.
