Whispers in the Shadows

Beneath the night sky, Linhai City glitters with neon and towers over its streets. The metropolis seems peaceful, but its depths conceal ancient secrets known to no one. Ye Zhiqiu lives an ordinary nine-to-five life as a librarian, yet she has always felt out of place. Her hearing is far sharper than most people's, and she often catches faint sounds others cannot: ancient whispers hidden in the wind, or a muddled melody woven into the raindrops. Then, while sorting old books in the library, she touches a forgotten volume, awakening a strange power that has lain dormant in her blood.

At the same time, a series of bizarre disappearances rocks the city. The victims all have one thing in common: they had come into contact with ancient artifacts or ruins. As the investigation deepens, a mysterious man named Gu Chenyuan enters Ye Zhiqiu's world. His eyes are deep, and his past shrouded in secrecy. He seems to know all about the secret of her bloodline, yet refuses to speak of it. Neither friend nor foe, his identity is a mystery. Sometimes he offers help; other times, he creates trouble.
