Crimson Butterfly's Shadow

Ling Chen, a Sword Venerable who once looked down upon all living beings from above the Nine Heavens, unexpectedly perished beneath the final tribulation lightning on the verge of ascension. As his soul tore through time and space, he was reborn in a modern metropolis called Haicheng, inhabiting the body of a young criminal police officer who had just died in the line of duty.

This world has no spiritual energy or cultivation arts, but it does have one mysterious unsolved case after another. The most baffling is a series of disappearances codenamed “Crimson Butterfly.” Every victim vanishes without a trace from a locked room, leaving behind only an eerie crimson butterfly mark.

Ling Chen’s partner is Su Qingying, Haicheng Police Department’s renowned ice queen and a criminal psychology expert. She believes in logic, data, and evidence, and is deeply suspicious of the newcomer “Ling Chen,” who always relies on some unfathomable “intuition” to assess a case.
