The Dusting Brush Case Files

The Immortal Venerable of the Xuantian Realm, Chu Lingxiao, is betrayed by a close friend while crossing the final tribulation on his path to ascension. The myriad paths collapse, and his soul is scattered.

He believes he will sink into oblivion forever, but a wisp of his remnant soul transmigrates across boundless time and space, reborn in a modern city on a planet called “Blue Star” and inhabiting the body of a young detective who has just died in the line of duty.

This world has no spiritual energy or magical arts, and mortals struggle through lives that last barely a hundred years. Yet one bizarre “perfect crime” after another overturns his understanding: a wealthy man found dead in a locked room, a blood-red peony blooming from his body; a superstar who falls from a high-rise at midnight, whose corpse bears not a single injury; an ancient artifact stolen from a museum that crumbles to dust before a crowd of witnesses...

Ordinary criminal investigation techniques are powerless against these cases, but in the eyes of the former Immortal Venerable, they leave behind unmistakable “traces of the Dao.”
