Broke heiress Su Wanzhi is forced to sign a one-year contract marriage with Lu Shiyan, CEO of the Lu Group, to save her seriously ill father. Though Lu Shiyan seems cold and distant, he secretly helps Su Wanzhi resolve her family’s crisis. After his first love, Song Zhixia, returns from abroad and provokes her at every turn, Su Wanzhi uses her keen insight to expose Song Zhixia’s phony facade. Lu Shiyan is gradually drawn to Su Wanzhi’s resilience and intelligence, transforming from her “contractual employer” into the one pursuing her. As they face-slap their adversaries and rebuild their families’ fortunes, the two go from testing each other to falling sincerely in love. In the end, they break free of the contract and find their happily-ever-after.
