There Are Eyes Watching You

As competition among news media has intensified, many outlets have increasingly used undercover investigations and covert filming to expose problems and dark truths. These reports often attract public attention because they are close to everyday life. The reporters' disguises and undercover work also fascinate audiences with their humor, strangeness, and danger. This drama taps into that interest, artistically portraying a series of stories in which journalists use covert filming and undercover investigations to reveal social ills and promote justice.

In the drama, Yu Xiang, a young man from out of town who dreams of becoming a screenwriter, sets out for a big city. After a series of setbacks, he accidentally becomes a reporter for the news documentary program The Third Eye. From then on, he works as a documentary reporter exposing social ills. Through his camera lens, viewers see a host of notorious social evils, some of which persist to this day: false advertising, pyramid schemes, paid female companionship, marriage scams, the sale and purchase of counterfeit medicine, piracy, the resale of secondhand clothes, exam cheating, telecom fraud, unscrupulous tour guides, and scams involving health products. His reports broaden the audience's horizons and make them more vigilant, while also helping the authorities crack down on and shut down these crimes, promoting what is right in society. During this work, he faces death threats several times, receives help from many people committed to justice, and finds love when he least expects it.
