The Charm of Yunling Village

Yun Qianxun, a Shanghai tour guide whose life has fallen apart, returns to her hometown and teams up with Kong Ganmuxi, a Dulong boy who won gold at the National Youth Song Contest. Together, they enter a national competition to improve the quality and creativity of guesthouses, facing off against harsh natural conditions and backward traditional attitudes. By combining agriculture, culture, and tourism, she expands a simple guesthouse business into a new kind of tourism experience that brings together outdoor adventure, agricultural activities, folk customs and intangible cultural heritage, and ethnic song and dance performances. They win a million-yuan grand prize. Yun Qianxun had planned to take the prize money and return to Shanghai to redeem herself. But she gains a whole new understanding of her hometown and begins to consider how it can develop after escaping poverty. Faced with abundant natural resources that have yet to become an economic advantage, Yun Qianxun turns her entrepreneurial sights on a local spice called caoguo. Drawing on her hometown's position as the country's largest caoguo-growing region, she works to move beyond the traditional model of simply selling raw ingredients. She actively recruits talent, attracts investment, and builds a factory for deep processing. Through the combined development of technological and industrial innovation, she creates new caoguo products and continually extends, strengthens, and fills gaps in the industrial chain. She builds a thriving new industry, writes an inspiring entrepreneurial legend of rural revitalization, and finds a moving love story in the countryside.
