My three tiers of web fiction: Lower tier: familiar formulas (lots of tropes, plenty to read) Middle tier: boundless imagination (bold ideas and unexpected twists) Upper tier: joy, sorrow, love, and hate (stories that move you endure) Everyone loves an Immortal Grass masterpiece, but such books are rare
