The Wealth-Making Expert

Who says cultivation requires a pure heart and freedom from desire? I take what I want and buy low, sell high, amassing wealth from across the world. Who says you have to bow and scrape before immortals, treating them with the utmost respect? Whether immortals can call me brother depends on my mood. Rogue immortals fight until they’re battered and bloody just for the chance to be my watchdogs. Who says the Spirit Ghost King, the Immortal Emperor, and the Demon Sovereign are the supreme rulers of their realms, with their noses in the air? Every time they see me, they look miserable, as if they owe me eight hundred strings of cash. I never bully merchants or monopolize the market. I just have someone come ask me every day what price to set for spirit crystals. I never bully women or take them by force. They simply all throw themselves into my arms like baby swallows. I never interfere in the cultivation world’s conflicts. I just happen to raise the prices a little when selling the supplies for those conflicts. I’m a wealth-gathering expert. I control a little more than half the spirit crystal mines in the cultivation world, and my plantations are only thirty or forty times bigger than those of the second-largest spirit herb grower. I own just over a thousand shops, and employ a mere ten thousand or so people… Sigh, I’m ashamed. Such a paltry business hardly lives up to my reputation as a wealth-gathering expert.
