My Ex-Husband Came to See Me Before Surgery

Outside the operating room, my ex-husband Miao Cheng blocked my path in his white coat. “Ai Yu, I’m operating. Are you signing or not?” Back then, he thought I was too focused on my career and neglected our family. He forced me to choose between our child and a promotion. I chose our child. He chose divorce. Now he was the surgeon holding the scalpel that could save my life, while I was the biggest medical equipment supplier to his hospital. “Director Miao,” I said, my hand steady as I signed, “every stitch you use is supplied by me.” The surgical lights came on. He still had no idea that I, lying on the operating table, had the exclusive rights to distribute the new product he’d been searching for over the past three months tucked in my arms.
