The Marquis Begs for a Divorce Every Day

Zhuo Ruyi, the matriarch of a marquis's household, has one greatest wish: for her husband, Di Qingcong, to hurry up and write her a letter of divorce so she can walk away with her dowry and the private savings she's amassed over three years. But the Marquis of Zhenbei refuses to grant her wish. On the very first day he returns home, he brings back a woman from the northwest, claiming he owes her his life. Zhuo Ruyi graciously offers to take her in as a concubine, only to be cornered by her husband: "Don't even think about it." After three years away without so much as a letter, her husband suddenly refuses to leave the veranda. In front of the entire household, he even tears up the letter of divorce. Zhuo Ruyi watches his lovesick act with cold eyes, until she discovers the letter in his arms, never sent three years ago, its ink blurred from being repeatedly rubbed. The love she thought was one-sided: he had kept it alive for three years, too.
