A Marriage Blindly Made

"A blind man and an ugly woman. I suppose they're a good match." When the matchmaker lifted my veil, the whole hall burst into laughter. I laughed too, at how stupid they were. The "ugly face" beneath the veil was one I'd spent three years painting with disguise paste. Peng Hu was blind, but he could smell the fragrance on me. He said it smelled wonderful. I thought his sense of smell was broken. Then, on our wedding night, he crushed the fake mole on my wrist bone. "Tai Shao, the person who tried to assassinate me three years ago had this same mole on her wrist bone." He was blind, but his dog could smell me.
