The White Jade Tiger: The Endgame

The latest sequel to Gu Long's White Jade Tiger.

Zhao Wuji crushes the White Jade Tiger and walks out through that door. He neither kills Shangguan Ren nor acknowledges him. After three years undercover, playing another face for the man who killed his father, he discovers that he can no longer tell enemy from ally. Amid the undercurrents of the Tang Sect, Tang Que smiles with eyes that see through everything. The players make their moves, and everyone is a pawn. When trust shatters like white jade, what remains after revenge? An endgame in the jianghu with no victors awaits your move.

This is not a story about “successfully getting revenge.” It is a story about “discovering that nothing has meaning after revenge.” It stays true throughout to Gu Long's central themes: there is no absolute good or evil, every choice comes at a cost, and both revenge and release are shackles. No one wins, setting it utterly apart from the clichéd ending of White Jade Dragon Carving, with its clear-cut good and evil and forced happy ending.
